Position Summary

The Program Director is responsible for the overall management and implementation of our day program services. This role oversees all aspects of program operations, including staff supervision, programming, regulatory compliance, and family/community relations. The ideal candidate is a passionate, experienced, and highly organized professional who is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and enriching environment for the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Management:

  • With the Executive Director, the Program Leader will develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive day program curriculum that is person-centered and promotes skill development, independence, and community integration.
  • Ensure the program operates in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Address and report any program-related issues or emergencies in a timely and effective manner to the Executive Director.

Staff Supervision and Development:

  • With Executive Director, the Program Leader will recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of program staff, including DSPs (Direct Support Professionals), volunteers, drivers, and other support personnel.
  • With Executive Director, the Program Leader will facilitate regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure all staff are knowledgeable about best practices, individual support plans, and safety protocols.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.

Individual and Family Support:

  • Maintain open and effective communication with program participants, their families, and guardians.
  • With the Executive Director, the Program Leader will ensure the development and implementation of high-quality Individual Support Plans (ISPs) that are tailored to each person’s unique goals and needs.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with families and stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Type 73 or PEL (Professional Educator License) preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a day program or similar setting for individuals with special needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management, program development, and budget administration.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to a person-centered philosophy.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, as well as be approved to drive CAI vehicle.

  • Salary: $24-$28/hour, based on qualifications and experience, with annual performance reviews every January

  • One week (five days) PTO provided. After 90 days of employment, the following holidays will be paid as well, when the program is closed:
    • New Year’s Day
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
