Our participants recently had the opportunity to spend an exciting morning at the Montgomery Fire Department, where they learned firsthand about the important work of our local first responders. Joined by our friends from Weston Bridges, the outing combined learning, community connection, and plenty of fun.

The day began with a delicious Pancake Breakfast before firefighters welcomed us inside for a guided tour of the station. Participants explored the fire trucks, emergency vehicles, and specialized equipment used to respond to emergencies throughout our community. Firefighters also explained how different tools are used to keep people safe and shared what it’s like to serve on the front lines every day.

One of the highlights of the visit was trying on real firefighting gear. Participants enjoyed getting a closer look at the equipment while asking questions and learning about the training and teamwork required to become a firefighter.

Community outings like this help participants build meaningful connections while learning about the people and organizations that make our neighborhoods safe. We are grateful to the Montgomery Fire Department for their hospitality and for giving us an unforgettable educational experience.
