This Earth Day, participants from the Center for Achieving Independence spent the morning making a positive impact on the Bloomhaven campus through a community cleanup event focused on teamwork, environmental responsibility, and community pride.
Equipped with gloves, trash bags, and plenty of enthusiasm, participants worked together to pick up litter, tidy outdoor spaces, and help keep the campus welcoming and enjoyable for everyone who visits. Throughout the morning, participants encouraged one another, shared laughs, and took pride in seeing the immediate results of their hard work.
In addition to helping clean the campus grounds, participants also placed handmade Friendship Rocks throughout the property for visitors and community members to discover and enjoy. Each rock featured colorful artwork and uplifting messages designed to spread positivity and brighten someone’s day.
The event was about much more than cleaning up outdoor spaces. Activities like these help participants strengthen important life and workplace skills in a real-world setting. Throughout the day, individuals practiced communication, collaboration, following directions, problem-solving, and teamwork while contributing to a shared goal.
Experiences centered around community involvement also help participants develop a stronger sense of responsibility and connection to the world around them. Earth Day provided a meaningful opportunity for individuals to give back, work together, and experience the satisfaction that comes from making a visible difference in their community.
